We bought a boat!

Three years ago we were talking about doing the Great Mississippi River Loop boat trip. This would be a 6 month endeavor and it was before we got the RV. We were visiting Sarasota, FL, at the time and found the perfect boat. It was for sale, but we were both still working and we couldn't possibly pull this off now.

Still that boat has been in the back of our minds and we even hired an agent to keep an eye out for it. On several occasions other boats came up for sale (there were only 10 made) but the timing was wrong or we were slow in making an offer. Eventually we gave up. Then on Christmas eve 2018 an email arrived. Another boat was available. This time we made an offer right away, but it was still too late.

I had heard a rumor that the original company Leopard Catamarans had sold their hull molds to a Chinese company and that company had made 30 more boats. I put our agent onto it and within a couple of days we were putting offers in on two boats. The first was too late (under contract) but the second was accepted. We will take possession on January 25.

Our plan is to cruise around Florida this year and then onto the Bahamas.
