Stayed at a 55+ RV resort with mostly Canadian snow birds (winter visitors). I needed some dental work so we headed across the border to Los Algodones, MX. The popularity of both inexpensive prescriptions and medical care catering to Canadian and U.S. citizens has caused an explosion of pharmacies, opticians and dental offices. They have largely displaced the typical shops you might see at a border town, but we did have a nice lunch at this cantina  Yuma grows 90% of the US lettuce crop.

The Desert Bar in Parker, AZ An "off the grid" bar in the middle of the Mohave desert. Quirky, rustic watering hole, with live music and food built on the site of a former mining camp, open weekends Oct–Apr.  5 miles of bone shaking rough road It's a popular place Our view from the deck Band stand Steel church Bridge entrance and solar array The original bar Bar overlook

A 16-mile water lover’s paradise on the Colorado River between Arizona and California. Created between Parker Dam, the world’s deepest dam and Headgate Rock Dam, this is the boating capital of the Southwest. When you get hungry, just pull-up to the many waterfront establishments. We stayed the at the Blue Water Casino RV Park. Jan called it the "ravine" because that's what it was, a ravine leading down to the river. Friendly people but not much else. The hotel, marina, and casino were owned by the Colorado River Indian Tribe. The hotel pool was closed for repairs.  The ravine Hotel Marina Bottom of the ravine Hotel Beach Sunset

Nevada Trip

February 8, 2018  We arrived in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Lyle will stay here while I fly up to visit Jacob and Heidi :) Vintage sign at a Laughlin casino, where we were last week. Oak Ridge Boys were playing there Joshua trees on the way to Las Vegas harsh looking country, but pretty. I keep thinking that the mountains look like a fake backdrop in a movie. Snow on the mountains as we approach Las Vegas, a palm tree cell tower, and the strip of hotels and casinos are on the right. A tight spot but we still have a mini "patio" with the obligatory portable fire pit  The Fremont Street Experience now has a zip line course and outdoor bars, seating, and live music. Love to all.
